School Meal Preference
The cost of a pupil school dinner is £2.80. Pupils taking a school dinner pay half termly or termly in advance.
Tetherdown School use a system called School Interviews to register school meal preferences and changes.
School meal preference change requests are accepted online TWICE termly ONLY, at half-term and the end of term. Meal preference changes are not accepted outside these times unless for medical reasons. Parents will be notified via ParentPay when they can register a school meal preference change request for their child. If parents miss the change request window, the next opportunity to change your child's meal preference will either be at half-term or the end of term. All parents will be contacted in advance to give you time to advise us of your child's dinner choice i.e. whether they wish to change to packed lunch or stay as school dinner.
Transitioning from Year 2 into Year 3 & School Meals
If your child is in Year 2 and transitioning into Year 3, at the start of any new academic year you are no longer eligible for Universal Infant School Meals (UIFSM).
Year 2 parents need to consider whether you wish your child to continue with school dinners in the Autumn Term (September) or move to packed lunch. The Universal Infant Free School Meal (UFSM) scheme has covered the costs of your dinners up until the end of the academic year (July), but when your child starts Year 3 in September school meals will be charged £2.80 per dinner, unless you are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM).
The school will assume new Year 3 pupils are taking a school dinner 5 days per week, and you will be charged accordingly, unless you notify us by registering your preference via school interviews. In the Summer term you will be notified via ParentPay when you can register your school meal preference ready for the start of the new academic year.
