Tetherdown Chess Success!

The children should be very proud of their achievement as we are of them.

Yr6 Alex, Rory, Leo and Yr5 Sam, Zac, Freddie represented the school in the U11 National Primary Schools Chess Championships Semi Finals.

There were 20 schools involving 120 children competing including former champions King's College, Westminster Under and The Hall. It was the first time in over two years the children got an opportunity to play over-the-board school team chess.

Tetherdown played Bute House Prep, The Vineyard (Richmond), The Hall, St Martin’s (Chelmsford) as well as local rivals Rhodes Avenue.

Their total team score meant a respectable 10th placed finish.

The children should be very proud of their achievement as we are of them.
