Tetherdown Football Tournaments

A top performance by all!

A very exciting day as a group of Y3/4’s took on their first competition with so much confidence and work ethic. I found myself running from pitch to pitch between both the girls' and boys' teams. We had fantastic support from Ms Li and our parent supporters – you were fantastic – a massive thank you!

Y3&4 Boys Team

On Friday 17th November 2023, the boys, team captained by Olly, not only showed their footballing skills throughout the competition against each opponent they came across, but played some brilliant football. Working as a team to get goals – a great job by Bobby for netting 7+ goals in the whole tournament! An impressive and proud moment was watching the boys work extremely hard to come back to seal a win against a really tough Rhodes side – their efforts, enthusiasm and positivity paid off by getting themselves into the 2nd group, where they went on to play 4 more games and continued to preserve with each game.  Well done boys - you really made Tetherdown proud and your supporters! An outstanding effort from you all.

Photo Team line up: Olly, Jack, Bobby, Arthur, Blake, Thomas, Alexander, Mack, Ali and Sam.

Y3&4 Girls Team

On Friday 17th November 2023, at New River our girls Y3/4 Football team, captained by Alma got off to a great start by winning 5-0! Goals just kept going in that game! The girls kept focused on each game and even though they faced some tricky opponents, they really persevered, and we saw some great defensive play by Edda and Lilah who both found themselves all over the field, creating chances for us and setting up Zoe and Sophia to net-in goals.

They went into the 2nd round of league games with so much confidence and flair, that they really impressed Ms Li and our parent supporters on the day! Winning 4 out of their 5 games! Well done to all the girls who took part – you all battled hard and a top performance from you all.
