Rosh Hashanah

Symbols of Rosh Hashanah - apples with honey and honey cake

Year 5 truly enjoyed Ms Blendis sharing the significance of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year on Monday 18th September. She brought along traditional symbols of the holiday - apples with honey and honey cake. The children learnt about Rosh Hashanah, a time of reflection and renewal, marking the start of the Jewish calendar.

Year 1 also enjoyed a special treat of apples and honey to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Children were thinking about how they can make this year a year of success and happiness.
