Year 5 Students Discover Seasonality Through the Art of Bread Making!

The joy on their faces as they saw the golden-brown loaves emerge was priceless.

Our DT lessons this half-term have centred around the concept of using seasonal ingredients in culinary creations and what better way to explore this than by creating sandwiches from scratch? Throughout the process, our students learnt about the importance of using fresh, locally sourced ingredients that align with the current season.

As part of our sandwich making, the children baked their own loaf of bread and were filled with excitement as the aromas of freshly baked bread wafted through the classroom. The joy on their faces as they saw the golden-brown loaves emerge was priceless.
