URGENT 25/11/25: SCHOOL CLOSURE & IMMEDIATE COLLECTION REQUIRED

Dear Parents and Carers

We are very sorry to inform you that we must close the school today due to an unexpected emergency.

Thames water have a burst MAINS water supply and will be turning off water in the local area for a period of time which includes Tetherdown School.

Haringey Health & Safety policy mandates that in this circumstance when there is no water the school cannot remain open as it impacts the kitchens and toileting facilities.

This situation is completely beyond the school’s control.

We now require all children to be collected as soon as possible. Please read the following instructions carefully:

Collection Times and location
Y1-6 – Upper Playground (Gate A) and Reception children from Reception Gate C
-- First collection window: 10:10 – 10:30
-- Second collection window: 10:50 – 11:10
-- All children must be collected and off-site by 12:00 as the school will close.
-- No clubs will be running today due to school closure.

Collection Procedure
-- Collection will operate exactly as it does at the end of the school day.
-- Parents and carers should line up in the normal place, and children will be brought out by staff as usual.

If someone else is collecting your child and you cannot come yourself, you must send a text message to your designated parent/carer contact confirming:
1. Your child’s full name
2. Your child’s class
3. That you give permission for that adult to collect your child
4. The parent/ carer collecting will show this text to the class teacher or staff member releasing your child -
We cannot release any child to another adult without receiving this written confirmation.

5. Independent walkers MUST be collected. Normal rules do not apply as during the school day.

DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL THE SCHOOL.
