🌟 Our Chess Team Reaches the National Semi Finals! ♟️👏
U9 team
Well done to the children in the school’s U9 chess team who competed in the National Primary Schools Chess Championship Semi Finals.
The team – Yr4 Ira, Ofek, Woody, Matias, Maya and Louis – finished in 3rd place, missing out on a place in the National Final by just 1 point.
In their five matches, the children faced teams from St Helen’s Catholic, St Paul’s Prep, North London Collegiate, Merchant Taylors’ Prep and Muswell Hill Primary.
Finishing 3rd in a field of 30 school teams from across London and the South East is a phenomenal feat.
The children should be really proud of their achievement.
U11 team

The U11 team had a tough chess day.
The team – Y6s Aaru, Hiru, Rohan, Kerem and Y5s Darshan and Miki - faced teams from St Paul’s Prep, Weston Park, Abacus, Eden Primary and Wood Green Prep.
36 teams were competing in the U11 section, including many of the top North London chess schools.
Win, lose or draw, the children enjoyed the challenge of playing against children other than their friends in the school chess club and the experience of tournament chess will have added to their bank of chess knowledge.
