Year 1 Dragonflies gave a wonderful assembly inspired by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks’s The Singing Mermaid. We retold the story of the Singing Mermaid and her amazing escape, sang songs inspired by the sea and shared some of our Missing Mermaid posters. For these posters, we practised using question marks, compound subjects and objects to describe the Singing Mermaid and try and bring her back home!
