U9 and U11 London Junior Team Chess Championship held at Frith Manor Primary School

We are so proud of our U9 and U11 Tetherdown Chess Teams
U9
There were 20 teams from 17 schools taking part in the U9 section, including a couple of the top London chess schools – Kew College and Wren School.
Tetherdown finished in a respectable 10th place after playing St Mary’s, Hampstead Parochial, Lochinver House, Beacon, Yerbury and Wren.
The six player team was Yr4s Ira, Ofek, Arbel, Matias, Andrii and Louis.
It was a good team effort, but special mention goes to Ofek who won ALL his six games, earning him the prestigious Board Prize trophy.
U11
There were 24 teams from 22 schools taking part in the U11 section, including top North London chess schools - Haberdashers’ Boys, Beacon and Belmont.
It was a tough chess day for the team, who finished in 19th place having played Belmont, St Christophers’, Frith Manor, Muswell Hill Primary, St Martins and Rhodes Avenue.
The six-player team was Yr6s Aaru and Hiru and Yr5s Darshan, Mihailo, Oliver and George.
Despite some disappointing results, the children were in good spirits and should be proud of their effort amongst a particularly strong field.
