Exciting new developments: new equipment; dedicated play team; play zones!
Exciting New Developments in Our Playground!
We are delighted to share the latest updates on our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) journey! Our playground is evolving to offer even more opportunities for creativity, movement and imaginative play.
New Equipment: Sit and Scoot & Cubes
This term, we have introduced Sit and Scoot boards and Cubes to our play areas! These additions have already been a huge hit with the children, providing new ways to move, balance and explore.
Our Play Team – Here to Support Our Child at Playtime
To help all children feel confident and supported during playtime, our dedicated Play Team is always on hand. While any child can seek help from any adult, each Play Team member is specifically linked to a year group, providing a familiar and trusted point of contact. They also ensure clear communication with teachers by passing on important information about any injuries, disagreements or notable behaviours—both positive and negative. This helps us maintain a supportive and safe environment for all children.

New Play Zones Coming Soon!
New Play Zones Coming Soon!
We are thrilled to announce that we will soon be introducing two new zones in our playground:
🎶 Music Area – A space for children to experiment with sound and rhythm.
🎭 Role Play Area – A place for imaginative storytelling and creative expression.
To bring these areas to life, we would love your help in gathering resources. If you have any of the following items to donate, we would be incredibly grateful:
- Yoga mats (for seating and relaxation)
- Brooms (for bubble making)
- Old music equipment or instruments
- Dress-up clothes (including hats, scarves, sunglasses)
- Old handbags, bags or suitcases
- Old/broken phones for imaginative play
- Soil to refresh our mud kitchens
- Log cut-offs for seating or zoning different areas
If you can contribute any of these items, please drop them off into the OPAL trolley located outside the school office. Your support will make a huge difference in creating engaging and enriching play experiences for our children.
