Tetherdown School Fund
Many of you will be acutely aware of the current financial situation schools around the country are facing. Indeed, worldwide issues are affecting all our daily lives. You may also be aware that Tetherdown is the lowest funded Local Authority Maintained School in Haringey shared on the ITN ‘5 News’ article shown in May last year involving some of our Year 4 pupils: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OsJ8BRABk8s.
We’re doing our best to keep the facilities in the school in good condition, but without resources to invest in any kind of refurbishment, such as buying new furniture and painting the walls for the last 15 years, it’s evident that the school is in need of much repair, and we’re lacking in some vital equipment particularly in our IT and Performing Arts offering. As a result, we’re asking for your help by way of a voluntary direct debit.
A huge thank you to the parents who already contribute in this way as it has enabled us to invest in IT, replace some windows, fences, and kitchen equipment. But we have so much more we need to invest in to provide our children with an environment that can support their potential and there is an enormous list of things that still need attention such as refurbishing the children’s bathrooms, new chairs, desks, and carpets.
Of course, your kind donations will be managed by the school with the support of the governors, and we will report to parents what has been achieved with the money raised on a regular basis. As parents and carers at the school, your input is extremely valuable so there will also be opportunities for you to vote on some projects.
These donations are separate from the charitable funds raised by the Friends of Tetherdown as these will be focused entirely on our outdoor learning, improving the playgrounds and sports facilities.
We completely appreciate times are tough for everyone and many of you cannot consider supporting us in this way, but if you possibly can, please dig deep and help us out by clicking one of the links below:
We are so lucky to have such an incredible parent community and thank you all in advance for your continuing support.
Gentle reminder
Please may I remind parents and carers that we do not have capacity to store children’s bikes. We have scooter storage available to children. Bike storage is for adults (as you will appreciate from the height of the brackets). Sadly, children’s bikes are falling against and damaging other bikes. Chaining bikes to the school fence is not an option, as this damages the paintwork. Please help us by not storing children’s bikes in this area but taking them home or encouraging scooting. Thank you.
