Year 5 Apollo Music
It was one of the best experiences of our lives!
At the moment, we are doing the Apollo Music Project in Year 5. Apollo is the name of the string quartet which have been coming to play in year 5. We have learned some very interesting facts about different musical instruments (like violins, violas and cellos). They have also taught us a lot of things about string quartets, including how there is always a leader. We have also got to meet the different musicians and ask them about their journey into a career in music.
So far we have seen two performances and both of the quartets were different, but the leader was always the same person. The leader is called Lucy, and she was really kind and good at playing the violin. All of us got a chance to ask them questions which didn’t all have to be about the instruments like:
Where was there favourite place to perform? or How old they were when they started learning a musical instrument?
It was one of the best experiences of our lives!
