Listen to our podcasts!
On Friday 6th January, both Year 4 classes worked with students from the Institute of Education and created their own Podcasts based on First News newspapers. We were sent brand new copies of the newspaper and we were able to read them before they even appeared in the shops! The aim of our podcasts was to persuade someone to read an article of our choice from First News. We had to work with a team to do this and we had lots of fun!

Year 4 Leopards visit to the New Happy Swan restaurant
On Tuesday 6th December 2016, on a cloudy day, Year 4 Leopards went to a Chinese restaurant called the New Happy Swan. We came in and sat down on two, long tables and had a chat while we waited for the food. Finally the food was ready to eat, Miss Sweeney called four at a time to go and get there delicious food. Before we got our food this strange smell was floating around the restaurant, we finally realised this was incense. You could just help yourself to food also if you had finished your first plate you could help yourself to more. When everybody had finished the owner of the shop, called Kitty gave us some fortune cookies, which were very nice, while we telling Kitty facts and asking her questions. Then we got our coats on and off we went back to school. We also got to keep some chopsticks from the restaurant as well.

Science and DT Day

We have been learning about Electricity in Science so we combined our Science topic with our Chinese/RE topic and made electrical lanterns and electrical Christmas cards. Have a look at some of our final products in these photos...
