Year 4 Assembly and Rainforest Café

posted 13 Nov 2015, 07:33 by Tetherdown Primary

On Friday 6th November, Year 4 completed their year group assembly. They took everyone on a fun filled journey through the rainforest where they demonstrated their knowledge of rainforest facts, adaptation and they sang songs to help complete the journey! Following the assembly the children created their own rainforest café. In the rainforest café the Year 4 children sold cakes, with the aim of raising money for a rainforest charity and the Year 4 class budgets (the money will be split equally between these causes).

The children had written persuasive letters to local businesses, asking them to donate cakes for the rainforest café. Their persuasive letters were incredibly successful and we would like to say a huge thank you to Planet Organic, Muswell Hill Bakery, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose for donating cakes and all of the Year 4 parents for getting behind and also baking cakes! We have raised just over £250 which is fantastic!

Bills have also donated a delicious looking hamper which we will be raffling off in Year 4. Hopefully this add to our fantastic total.
