On the 21st January children from Tetherdown School took part in a local indoor athletics competition held at Heartlands Secondary School. There were 10 different events, some were field events and others were track events. The events were: 2 by 4, 6 by 2, 1 lap of hurdles and the field events were the chest push, the vertical jump, the standing long jump, the standing triple jump and the speed bounce. Neve in Year 5 did the long jump. She said “I felt like I was going to get 1.90m-2m. I also felt really nervous.” Molly in Year 5 completed the vertical jump and scored 31cm. Amy, also in Year 5 did the chest push. She said “I felt really nervous at the beginning. Now I have completed it, I feel very proud of myself.” Amani’s Mum from Year 5 said “I am really proud of all of the wonderful athletes from Tetherdown. They all did really well!”

Tetherdown came 4th overall and all of the children should be really pleased with themselves.
