The Governing Body
The Governing Body is made up of 11 individuals from the local community, including the Headteacher. There is 1 elected staff governor and the parents elect 4 parent governors. There is 1 Local Authority representatives and 4 co-opted governors. The Headteacher is automatically a Governor.  Governors meet twice per term as a whole body and at other times in committee. The second part of the meeting is for any confidential items and is closed to non-members.

The day to day running of the school is the responsibility of the Headteacher and it is the governing body's duty to:

  • monitor and challenge the progress of the school in achieving its priorities;
  • recruit and appraise the performance of the Headteacher
  • exercise employer responsibility
  • ensure the school(s) meet its statutory responsibilities
  • ensure financial probity;
  • ensure the premises are well managed;
  • report to the school’s stakeholders and
